F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

When Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick came up with their zombie comedy flick, Zombieland, they had just one person in mind for its legendary cameo.

Unfortunately, Patrick Swayze had to decline the role due to his battle with cancer. The duo had imagined a Patrick Swayze Zombieland cameo that would also pay homage to a few great Swazye movie moments.

Reese says:

That was many years ago, before he got sick. It was [going to be] a Patrick Swayze zombie. They got attacked by him zombified and we had these wonderful moments where they found a potter's wheel and there's Columbus on the wheel and these other hands come up behind him and it's Patrick Swayze the zombie. Ultimately, they fight and Patrick bull rushes Tallahassee who grabs him and lifts him into the air, a la Jennifer Grey, and smashes him into a pillar.

In the end, Reese and Wernick had to choose someone else for their superstar zombie. As you might imagine, the identity of this celebrity zombie is being kept top secret.

If we were to reveal the Zombieland cameo to you, there would be human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria.
