Walking Dead in 3, 2, 1…
In a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood horror movie, one man is dead and another has been hospitalized after a bizarre attack off Miami‘s MacArthur Causeway forced a police officer to open fire.
Miami police say the trouble started on Saturday at around 2 p.m. EDT when an officer responded to reports of 2 men fighting near traffic on the Biscayne Boulevard exit ramp. There, the officer observed a naked man eating another man’s face.
The police officer approached and saw that the naked man actually seemed to be chewing on the other man’s head, according to witnesses. The officer ordered the naked man to stand down, and when he did not, the officer opened fire.
The attacker continued to eat the man, despite having been shot, forcing the officer to continue firing his weapon. Witnesses say they heard at least a half dozen shots.
Police sources said the victim had “virtually no face” left and was all but unrecognizable.

“[Officers] attempted to separate them, there was some sort of confrontation,” said Miami Police spokesman Willie Moreno.
Photographs from a nearby garage show the naked man lying dead at the scene. Police said his victim was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Officials are remaining strangely silent about the ordeal, and haven’t identified the officer involved, the deceased, or the victim. The incident caused major traffic delays as multiple lanes of vehicles were routed around the crime scene.
Investigators are now asking witnesses to contact authorities. Detectives are offering up one possible, non-sci-fi explanation for the incident, saying that the victim may have been homeless and the naked man may be have been suffering from “cocaine psychosis,” which could have prompted him to remove his clothing.
