Turns out, you’ve seen the most fascinating thing on your TV thousands and thousands of times, and you’ve probably never noticed it.
Artist Stephan Tillmans takes photographs of tube televisions at the exact moment they are turned off, with magnificent results.

The television picture breaks down and creates a structure of light. The pictures refuse external reference and broach the issue of the difference between abstraction and concretion in photography.
I have no idea what that means, but I like to think it’s techie talk for “duh, winning!” Check it out below.
