Why are we still debating this? I'm really not sure. The stock market was down some 700 points yesterday and another 100+ points today. In fact, last week was the worst week ever for the stock market. Heck, home-builder confidence is even at record lows.
Even the biggest tech and online companies are taking a hit. The only company that seems to be immune is Google.
It's been such a chaotic week, that TechCrunch has started their own layoff tracker. I know it's not the kind of bright, cheery thing you want to see on a Friday afternoon, but you should really check it out. Among the big names that laid people off over the last two weeks: Ebay, Pandora, Hi5, Adbrite, and Zillow, just to name a few.
Let's hope this thing turns around soon.
P.S. - I'm also tracking a story that popped up in my Google Reader. Apparently, Shoemoney was going to post something about CPA Empire being sold to an Indian company for $100 million, but the post has now strangely disappeared. If anyone knows anything, post it here for us.
