SocialMedia, the company that makes million advertising on social networks, has released the “WOMI”, A.K.A. Word of Mouth Impression.
WOMI campaigns present users with interactive ads asking them for input either though a multiple choice question or a text field. SocialMedia, in turn, utilizes this feedback to customize ads which are shown to the user’s friends on the same social network.
For example, if an ad for Star Trek had a call-to-action asking if I was a fan of The Original Series or The Next Generation, it could take your answer and then present your friends with an ad that said “Mark likes The Original Series, how about you?”.
In turn, their responses are forwarded to THEIR friends, giving the campaign a truly viral feature.
If you aren’t into this kind of personlizaton, SocialMedia WOMI’s will include a sidebar that lets you disable them permanently.
