Twitter is finally taking its first steps into the advertising game, with a little help from Microsoft.
Today, Twitter introduced us to ExecTweets - a Microsoft-sponsored page that collects tweets from various executives.
Twitter will receive some form of payment for promoting the site on Twitter itself.
It's possible that as soon today, you could start seeing promos for ExecTweet on the main Twitter page and in the tiny box that the site has now started placing on profile pages.
I don't know that this will be anything ground-breaking, especially since most users don't use Twitter on the main site. Most are using it via third-party apps.
Still, it's nice to see that they're trying to make some money. Aren't we all?
