Wal-Mart has issued a recall of approximately 1.5 million DVD players that they have sold. According to Wal-Mart, the "value" DVD players could suddenly burst into flames because of an overheating issue.
So far, 12 customers have complained that the DVD players severely overheated, while 5 of the 12 customers say that the players burst into flames.
The DVD players were sold at Wal-Mart stores from January, 2006 until July, 2009 for around $29.
The DVD players came with a remote and had a U-shaped DVD area at the top of the unit. You may return the device to your local Wal-Mart yourself or call Wal-Mart (800-925-6278) for return instructions and more information.
