F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

There are two videos that are absolutely lighting up the charts this afternoon on YouTube.
Texas Fireball
The first video, or rather a set of videos, surrounds a mysterious Texas fireball that appeared in the skies yesterday.
The FAA says that the fireball, which also produced a sonic boom, was probably a piece of space debris. Some officials think it may have come from a collision that destroyed two satellites last week.
The U.S. Strategic Command, however, said there was no connection to the sightings over Texas and Tuesday's collision of satellites from the U.S. and Russia.
"There is no correlation between the debris from that collision and those reports of re-entry," said Maj. Regina Winchester, with STRATCOM.
The satellites collided over Siberia and sent thousands of pieces of debris into the Earth's orbit, pieces that experts said could remain there for thousands of years.
The sightings prompted several calls to law enforcement, including to agencies in Collin County, officials said. In Williamson County, north of Austin, the fireball sent authorities scrambling in vain to search for what they thought was a crashing aircraft, The Associated Press reported.
There are some pretty interesting comments being posted here.
Here are a couple of clips of the incident. One cameraman in Texas actually got a pretty good shot of this thing. Is it "War of the Worlds" material?...
(UPDATE: It now turns out that a similar fireball was seen in the sky in Kentucky on Friday night. What's going on??)
