F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

jon stewart jim cramer Video: The Daily Show Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer

The following contest is scheduled for one fall.

It was a television battle for the ages.

Jon Stewart blasted Jim Cramer and in the big Daily Show face-off.  Stewart repeatedly went after Cramer for putting entertainment above journalism.

"I understand that you want to make finance entertaining, but it's not a ... game," Stewart said as he slipped in an f-bomb during the show's taping on Thursday.  The episode ran at 11pm EDT on Comedy Central.

It was definitely "gloves off" fo Stewart.

The show opened in mock hype of the confrontation, which had been building up over the past few weeks after a couple of viral rants (see here and here) had blasted across the internet.  The show called this the "weeklong feud of the century."

In his opening, Stewart said it was "go time."  He then aired a clip of Cramer's Thursday appearance on "The Martha Stewart Show" in which Cramer beat a mound of dough, pretending it was Stewart.

Said Stewart: "Mr. Cramer, don't you destroy enough dough on your own show?"

Once Cramer came out for the interview, Stewart wondered: "How the hell did we get here?"

Cramer, his sleeves characteristically rolled up, said he was a "fan of the show."

The humorous tone didn't last long for Stewart.

He repeatedly said Cramer wasn't his target, but aired clip after clip of him on the show.

OK, OK, here is the clip...
