What is up with Joaquin Phoenix anyway?  Is this whole thing just an act or has he totally gone berzerk?

Wednesday night, Joaquin decided to kick a heckler's ass at his own show.

The incident started when a some guy in the crowd started shouting at Joaquin.

He responded by saying “We have a f%&^ng bitch in the audience.” He then continued: “I’ve got $1million in the bank. What have you got bitch?”

Joaquin then dove into the crowd to open a can of whoop-ass on the heckler.  He was then taken away by security.

Brother-in-law Casey Affleck was there to capture all the action.
