Video: Ashton Kutcher Hits One Million Twitter Followers, Apocalypse Near

The way I see it, today must be the day that the seventh seal of hell is opened and the apocalypse draws near.

Yes, Ashton Kutcher has defeated CNN and reached one million Twitter followers, just in time for his appearance later today on Oprah.

(Note to Twitter users: I would be expecting a major system crash after Oprah makes her first tweet today.  Traffic will probably overwhelm the site.)

He defeated @CNNbrk by about 2,000 followers.  Only 30 minutes later, however, the CNN feed also hit the one million mark.

Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) celebrated his victory with the following tweet: “You guys are amazing.” CNN tweeted a congratulatory message afterward: “Congrats @aplusk. Ashton Kutcher is the first twitter account to reach 1MM followers.”

Who is next in line?  Most likely it will be Britney Spears

as she is only around 40,000 followers away (if Oprah doesn't rocket past her first!).
