Twitter is apparently rolling out its search feature to all. Starting today, you will see a search box and a trends button on your user profile (note: MOST profiles seem to have this now – if you don’t, hang in there – you will have it soon).
The “Trends” button gives you a drop-down list of the ten most popular topics. Note that Chris Brown and his felony charges seem to be the current hot topic of the day. What an idiot.
The search box allows you to search in real time on any topic.
Previously, this tool existed only at search.twitter.com, which was the result of the company’s acquisition of Summize last year.
We have yet to harness the power of these practically-real-time searches, but the possibilities now seem endless.
