Twitter turns thee years old today at 4:01pm EDT.
Founding CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted earlier today linking back to some of the earliest tweets at the company, which at the time was jokingly referred to as "twttr".
Like any three-year-old, it had a little bit of a tantrum earlier today.
In the wee hours of Saturday morning, Twitter was completely silent for a few hours. The service, as well as all third-party clients, suffered a complete crash. Luckily, it occurred on a weekend night.
The service seems to be back to normal now, albeit a little slow.
