Twitter has just introduced a new form of advertising – Twitter ads on the home page when you’re logged in.
The ads are currently only for Twitter Search or the Twitter Widget. These must be preliminary tests fo making this space available to third parties in the coming weeks or months.
Twitter’s CEO, Evan Williams, has said previously that he thought Twitter’s strongest revenue potential would come from charging commercial entities to use the service. This effort, however, shows that the company will be trying many different advertising tactics.
