People love it. People hate it. People are upset about it. Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn. People are unemployed and there are more job losses coming…what’s the big f**king deal about an “authority”-based Twitter search?
OK, so in case you’ve been living in a cave, Twitority has launched.
Yesterday Loic Le Meur wrote a blog post asking for an authority-based Twitter search that would allow users to restrict their searches to Twitter users with a large number of followers.
Great, the result is Twitority. So now, the search results are weighted by the number of followers a person has. Sure, it’s easy to game the system and build up an incredible amount of followers in a short period of time.
That’s why….get this…it’s OPTIONAL. That’s right. There is no one with a gun to your head forcing you to use Twitority. There also a new Twitter service called Tweetree. No one’s forcing you to use that either.
So why don’t we all grow up a little and focus on the important things…like getting the economy back on track?
