Twin Babies Laughing

Do twins really have some sort of secret connection? It certainly seems possible after seeing this video of a two twin baby brothers.

Sam and Ren, a pair of fraternal twins, seem to babble on endlessly, laughing almost non-stop about…who knows what?

“These kids are right on the cusp of language,” says Stephen Camarata, professor of hearing and speech Sciences at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center in Nashville, according to WTMA.

Instead of producing words, the boys are making different sounds in the tone and rhythm of speech.

“Even before they have words, they know how conversation works,” says Dr. Roberta Golinkoff, education professor and director of the infant language project at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE (my alma mater, by the way!).

“They’re producing syllables emphatically and using them for communication purposes,” she said. “They’re having a ball.”
