With Hurricane Bill moving off of the map this week, a new tropical system taking shape…and some computer models seem to think this one could be quite interesting.

It should be noted that, at present, this is not a well-organized system, however, there is the possibility that this system could become Tropical Storm Danny by this weekend and head up the east coast of the U.S.

The National Hurricane Center gives this system a 30 – 50 percent chance for tropical development.

According to the NAVY NOGAPS and Canadian computer models released on Tuesday morning, this would indicate a hard hit on Ocean City, MD (our home state here at Blippitt) and the Mid-Atlantic region by Saturday.

Forecasters will certainly be keeping a watchful eye on this new system over the next 24 – 48 hours.
