It was a party bet gone horribly, horribly wrong. At an Illinois party in September of last year, aspiring rapper John “Fatboy” Powell agreed to be punched in the face by 22-year-old Tiffany Startz on a $5 bet.
After being punched and collecting his $5, Powell, 25, went over to talk to some friends. Moments later, he collapsed from a burst artery in his neck.
A subsequent autopsy would reveal that he died from a brain hemorrhage caused by blunt force trauma.
Startz, who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 142 lbs, has now been charged with reckless conduct and battery charges.
Powell had been at the party to perform with his rap band Krazy Killaz.
Jimmy Mounts, 27, who offered guests cash to take a punch from Startz, has also been charged with reckless conduct.
