Well, maybe not BIG. Really, they’re pretty obvious. However, we tend to get so caught up in looking for the “magic button” that will make traffic flow endlessly to our site, that we forget that it really comes down to three simple things…
1. Content
Fresh content, that is…and lots of it. Keep churning out fresh, original content and the search engines will love you. Give the spiders a reason to come back more than once per day.
2. Make Sharing Easy
By sharing, I mean social bookmarking. You’ve got to have at least a “Sphinn It” or “Digg This” button in a highly visible place. Be compelling and give people a reason to link to you. It’s all about the LINKS. More importantly, “give the world something to click on”.
3. Network
Get out there. I don’t care if you’re in a bad mood or you’re having a bad day. Participate in some forums, answer some questions, chat with fellow blog owners. If you’re not networking two to four hours per day, you’re losing out to someone who is.
That’s it. There’s no magic bullet. There’s no mystical oil.
Now, get out there and do something. “If you blog it, they will come.”
P.S. – A Dominate IM update…my costs came in WAY lower than I thought for this offline campaign. This should really increase my profit margin over the weekend and in days to come. Can’t wait to see what happens. Stay tuned for updates.
