Michael Jackson‘s new song “This Is It” began streaming online on Monday, almost four months after the King of Pop died of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 50.
The single opens with a soft, soulful introduction and the lines: “This is it, here I stand. I’m the light of the world, I feel grand.”

The song will be available as part of the two-disc album “This Is It” which will hit international shelves on October 26th and in the U.S. on October 27th. The release will coincide with the premiere of the Michael Jackson movie of the same name on October 28th.
“This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows — that Michael is one of God’s greatest gifts,” said John McClain, who is the album’s co-producer and also executor of Michael Jackson’s estate.
