You think and think, and think some more, about ways to make money online. Meanwhile, Eric Carle had a brilliant marketing plan, whether he meant to do so or not.
"In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf," begins his classic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which is celebrating its 40th birthday (the book, not the author).
Children's books are a HUGE money-maker. It's no surprise that lots of people try to get in on the act. Heck, even Jamie Lee Curtis has written a few (ie: Where Do Balloons Go?, etc).
Google has gotten into the spirit today with a special logo...
You can also view a special video from Eric Carle about the book on his website.
Want to get it on the action yourself? Take a look at How to Write a Children's Book and Get It Published by Barbara Seuling for a great intro to the children's book industry.
