“The Princess and the Frog” took the top spot at reigned supreme at movie theaters this weekend.

The fairy tale from Disney did $25 million, according to initial estimates. That was about $10 million more than the closest competitor.

It also represents the best debut for an animated film released during the month of December, topping “Beavis and Butthead Do America”, which debuted to $20 million in 1996.

“The Blind Side”, starring Sandra Bullock, continues to dominate as well, taking the second place slot with $15.5 million. The movie based on the life of Baltimore Ravens player Michael Oher has done $150.2 million.
