Have you ever wondered how the story of the Nativity might have been different if there had been things like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and other social media websites around at the time?
Well, the folks over at http://www.excentric.pt, a 50-person shop based in Lisbon, have put together a video that’s both amusing and amazing that explores just that.
Having already accumulated from 9 million views on YouTube, “The Digital Story of the Nativity”has had the biggest viral video debut since Old Spice’s “Responses” campaign in July.
The video’s sudden success has been a surprise for Miguel Figueiredo, CEO of Excentric, who says he came up with the idea to show the agency’s clients what might be possible using video.
“We wanted to prove to our markets that we were able to make viral videos and this is a process that can be managed and have great results,” he says.
Would the Three Kings simply have “followed” the star on Twitter? Would they have searched for their gifts on Amazon? Could Mary and Joseph have gotten to Bethlehem using Google Maps?
