F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

05_Flatbed_2 - SEPTEMBERTaylor Swift sat down with "The View" to share her thoughts on Kanye West's rude interruption of her thank you speech at Sunday's VMA's on MTV.

"My overall thought process went something like ... 'Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut,'" she revealed. "'What are you doing there?' And then, 'Ouch,' and then, 'I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"

At the time of the original interview, Taylor Swift said that Kanye hadn't reached out to her personally, despite a public apology on Jay Leno Monday night. Kanye West, however, did finally call her after "The View" had aired.

"After the show he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer," reads a statement from "The View." "She has accepted Mr. West's apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private."

On "The View," Swift remained amazingly composed about the incident, despite the fact that she was "rattled." Somehow, she even managed to perform just five minutes after the interruption.

"I never imagined there were that many people looking out for me," she said. "It was really wonderful seeing people out there defending me so I didn't have to."
