This Friday June 26, is national Take Your Dog To Work Day.

With more businesses becoming dog friendly, this day is a good way to spend some quality time with man's best friend. Having dogs in the workplace has been proven to reduce stress while increasing productivity.

Before taking your dog with you to the office, be sure to check and make sure your work site is appropriate for animals.

If your co-workers and supervisor are OK with you bringing your dog to work, there are few things you should take with you to make the day more comfortable.

- Bring a blanket or bed and place it in an out of the way area as a place for your dog to settle and get away from activity, especially if he becomes overwhelmed with all the new people and smells.

- Tupperware makes a great light weight container for food and water and is not as bulky as your dogs dishes.

- A leash or harness for taking your dog out for potty walks and to keep him near you if he becomes excited and wants to be romantic with your office mate or their dog.

- Toys and snacks to have your co-workers give to your dog, human interaction especially with treats and toys is a great way for dogs and humans to be more comfortable with one another.

- Cleaning items in case your dog has an accident or purposely marks another persons desk as his own.

Bringing your dog to work is a fantastic way to relieve stress and spend some quality time with your pet.
