Time Warer decided last night to “spin off” AOL into its own, independent comapny.  The Time-Warner board of directors gave the move an “enthusiastic endorsement,” according to reports.

AOL has just named that chairman and CEO. Tim Armstrong, who formerly ran ad sales for Google, will replace Randy Falco as CEO.
