Posted by Blippitt Team in September 22nd 2009

Most of the time, contextual advertising can be extremely beneficial in targeting online marketing campaigns. And then there’s these times. These contextual ads missed the mark by a mile and kept going, displaying ads that were wildly inappropriate, yet hilarious.

Georgia Jagger Topless in Hudson Jeans Ad (PHOTO)

Posted by Chris Monty in July 23rd 2009

17-year-old Georgia Jagger, daughter of rock legend Mick Jagger, has been spotted appearing topless in a new Hudson Jeans ad for Hudson Jeans.  As you might expect, there are those who take issue with the ad.
Mediabistro’s Agencyspy says this about exploiting young women in advertising:
“They’re also off limits when it comes to sexual references [...]

Newspapers may be suffering, but Craigslist is booming.
The classified ad website is on pace to rake in over $100 million in revenue this year, according to a new study from Classified Intelligence Report, a publication of AIM Group.
That figure represents a 23 percent increase over 2008 Craigslist Revenue.  In fact, back in 2004 the site [...]

Bing TV Ad Campaign to Begin Today

Posted by Chris Monty in June 3rd 2009

Bing is pulling out all the stops when it comes to marketing, in its attempt to unseat Google as “King of All Search.”

The Red House – WTF YouTube Commercial of the Year

Posted by Chris Monty in May 9th 2009

I have no idea what the point of this commercial is.  It’s catching on like wildfire though, with more than 600,000 views on YouTube.
The only thing I can think of is that this is kind of like a car accident, where everyone just has to slow down and take a look.  On the other hand, [...]

New Burger King SpongeBob Commercial Has Parents up in Arms

Posted by Chris Monty in April 9th 2009

Burger King has finally gone off the deep end.
A new advertising campaign pairs Burger King up with SpongeBob and women with square butts.  It hasn’t exactly gone over well with parents and conservatives.
In the ad, the already creepy (IMHO) Burger King “King” sings “I Love Square Butts” surrounded by women shaking square butts, yes square [...]

Google Gets Slapped in Adwords Litigation

Posted by Chris Monty in April 5th 2009

On Saturday, Google was the one getting slapped – on the wrist perhaps.
A federal judge dealt Google a blow in a trademark lawsuit surrounding AdWords. The court ruled that allowing a typed-in trademark to trigger a search ad is a “use in commerce.”
This ruling doesn’t mean anything at this point, the case still has a [...]

No recession here – not on the internet anyway.
The Interactive Advertising Bureau reported yesteray that U.S. web advertising increased by 10.6 percent to $23.4 billion in 2008.  Not only that, but the $6.1 billion 4th quarter was the very first time web advertising exceeded $6 billion.
