tiger woods tag heuer times up

Tag Heuer is the latest advertiser to drop Tiger Woods like a bad habit. The Swiss watchmaker has begun removing placards of Tiger Woods from its stores in Australia.

In a truly remarkable coincidence, they, much like Gatorade, say that the timing is unrelated to the champion golfer’s recent “transgressions.”

This is absolutely amazing. What are the odds?

Ron Smales, who owns Smales Swiss Watch Centre, says he’s disappointed with Tag Heuer’s decision to remove the placards, and offers up some evidence that the decision was, in fact, related to the recent media frenzy surrouding Woods.

He said the company issued his shop a firm request that all advertising containing Woods’ likeness be removed at once.

“We’ve only just put them up,” he said.

“Why would you take them down and the other ones aren’t ready to go up? There were no reasons, but at the end of the day we know what’s going on in the news.”

That we do, Ron.  That we do.
