Alicia Keys and hubby Swizz Beatz are parents to a new baby boy.
Keys, who was originally said to be due in November, went into labor on Thursday and gave birth to a boy, Egypt Dauode Dean, in New York.
Beatz (real name: Kasseem Dean) sent out a tweet expressing his happiness shortly afterward, saying, “I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww (sic).”
Their close friend Mary J. Blige also chimed in with her joyous sentiments.
On Friday, she tweeted, “I’m So excited 2 Congratulate my brother @therealswizzz and @Aliciakeys on there (sic) New, baby, boy!!!!!!!”
This is Keys’ first baby, while Beatz already has three children from previous relationships.
The baby’s name is easy to explain, as Keys fell in love with Egypt during her brief hiatus there back in 2007. She said that her visit there inspired her to record her album “The Element of Freedom”.
Keys announced that she was expecting in May and married producer Beatz in France in July.
