The Swine Flu virus has made it here to Blippitt‘s home state of Maryland. Health officials report six “probable” cases of Swine Flu in Maryland.
Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has indicated that the flu samples have been shipped to the CDC for confirmation of the Swine Flu virus. The results are due back on Thursday.
Three of the cases are located in Anne Arundel County and the other three are here in Baltimore County.
The three possible cases in Anne Arundel County belong to a family that does not have a history of foreign travel. Another family member did travel recently to an affected area, however.
The three cases in Baltimore County include two people from the same family, one of whom did travel to Mexico not long ago.
The third case is a Baltimore County resident who traveled beyond Maryland, but to a location not considered to be an “affected area”.
Thus far, no one here has been hospitalized and everyone is recovering.
Let’s hope it stays that way.
