SuBo has done it!
Susan Boyle rocketed straight to the top of the U.S. charts with her first album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” setting a 2009 record of 701,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Boyle, 48, who became an international superstar back in April after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, also took the top spot on the British charts.

The album marks best opening week for a female artist’s debut album since SoundScan started tracking sales back in 1991, according to Billboard.com.
Boyle’s CD entered the Billboard 200 charts at number one, ahead of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, “For Your Entertainment” album opened at number three with 198,000 copies sold.
