Here's an interesting idea.
Instead of just showing tweets on a map, you could take things to the next level and display the street that the tweets are from.
This is the idea that launched Stweet, a cool new mashup of Twitter and Google Street View. Stweet takes the coordinates posted by Twitter apps like TwitterFon and uses that information to find the approximate street address where the tweet originated. It then shows the tweet as a Google Street View image.
The site features a unique interface, including a dropdown menu that allows you to browse U.S. cities. You can even see if tweets come from countries not listed by changing the end of the URL to “city, country”.
Of course, there are privacy issues surrounding programs like this, but I'm starting to wonder if privacy still exists these days.
