Stretch Armstrong to be Played by Taylor Lautner (VIDEO)

Remember Stretch Armstrong? That super-stretching superhero from the '70s and '80s?

He's about to hit the big screen.

Based on the Hasbro action-figure toy, Taylor Lautner will be joining the cast of the new Universal Pictures movie, which will debut in 2012, as the stretchable character.

“In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch,” says Donna Langley of Universal.

Now. Lautner has a shot to show what he's really made of in "Stretch Armstrong" as the whole movie will be shown in 3-D!
