lil monkey dollA baby doll has been pulled from Costco shelves in North Carolina after the store got complaints from customers complaining that it was offensive.

According to Costco, a Greensboro customer filed a complaint about the doll and the company then removed it from stores.

The product is a doll called “Cuddle with Me” baby and is made by BrassKey Keepsakes. The controversy stems from the black version of the doll, which is surrounded by monkeys and wears a hat labeled “Lil’ Monkey”.

The white version of the doll is surrounded by panda bears and wears a hat labeled “Pretty Panda”.

Costco says they received complaints from shoppers regarding the doll and pulled it from store shelves.

The store also received a chain letter demanding the stores remove product number 404860 which prompted the removal.

Costco’s Vice President of General Administration, Arthur Jackson, told FOX8 “We offer our sincere apology to anyone who was offended by the product. That was surely never our intent.”
