Temper temper. Steven Cowan, a man from Wisconsin who was upset with Bristol Palin‘s success on Dancing with the Stars, shot his television set with a shotgun as she made it to the reality show’s finals.
Cowan blasted his TV amid a heated debate over the way Palin has managed to survive on the program despite her low scores.
Cowan’s wife, Janice Cowan, told authorities that her husband had been watching Bristol dancing on Monday night when he “jumped up and swore…Steven was upset that a political figure’s daughter was on this show when Steven did not think that she was a good dancer.”
Steven Cowan, 67, then grabbed his shotgun and fired a round at TV, triggering a 15-hour stand-off with police in the town of Vermont, Wisconsin. He eventually came to his senses, surrendered, and was charged with reckless endangerment and use of a dangerous weapon.
Palin, meanwhile, will compete in next week’s Dancing with the Stars final against “Dirty Dancing” actress Jennifer Grey and former That’s So Raven Disney star Kyle Massey.
Steven Cowan will be watching on a bulletproof TV set (kidding!).
