The Nashville Police Department has just released the audio from the Steve McNair 911 call. McNair's friend Robert Gaddy placed the call reporting the deaths of the former NFL quarterback and Sahel Kazemi, the woman police say shot and killed Steve McNair before committing suicide.
In the audio from the call (below), a shocked Gaddy is confused and disoriented as he tries to explain to the dispatcher that he discovered the two bodies. Police said that Gaddy actually called 911 and then hung up. The recording begins when the dispatcher called Robert Gaddy back.
"I hate to be the one to make this call," Gaddy says. "It's so messed up."
McNair's friend Wayne Neely was the first to find his and Kazemi's bodies, and he then called Gaddy, who went to the apartment and made the Steve McNair 911 call. Gaddy was a college teammate of McNair's at Alcorn State.
