A small bomb was likely the cause of an explosion in New York this morning that blew out the windows of a Starbucks coffee shop in an Upper East Side neighborhood.

The blast occurred at Third Avenue and East 92nd Street just before 4am EDT.

Police are still looking for the person who may have left the Starbucks bomb near the shop.

The time of day echoed that of a pattern of unsolved morning explosions that have taken place near the British Consulate, the Mexican Consulate and the Armed Forces recruiting booth in Times Square over the past 24 months.
