On May 25, 1977, a movie opened in theaters across the country, a movie that would forever change the landscape of science fiction.
Today marks the 35th anniversary of “Star Wars.”
The original trilogy started us out in the middle of the story, with “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” a classic battle between good and evil.
Such was the demand for souvenirs in 1977 that fans scooped up 600,000 of Kenner’s “Early Bird” toy sets. These were empty boxes containing a mail-in coupon for action figures that would be sent as soon as they were available.
In honor of Star Wars’ 35th anniversary, enjoy this tribute video, hilarious Samuel L. Jackson spoof (caution: language is NSFL), and Star Wars infographic.
