Police say 37-year-old Stanley Lostumbo led them on an hour-long chase in Syracuse, New York in a dump truck. The chase ended with Lostumbo being shot.
The suspect jumped into a dump truck on Tuesday evening night after being accused of stealing from some vending machines at a local mall.
Police chased the dump truck on a highway, through area backyards, and finally down a set of railroad tracks at speeds upwards of 65 mph before finally stopping Lostumbo at a barricade.
The man tried to throw the truck into reverse and hit a sheriff’s vehicle. Officers then fired upon the suspect, striking him in the shoulder.
Deputies were questioning Lostumbo, who was hospitalized for minor injuries.
