For the 11th time in franchise history the St. Louis Cardinals are World Series champions, beating the Texas Rangers 6-2 in Game 7 last night.
Twice in Game 6 the Rangers were just one strike away from their first world title, but they couldn’t get it done as the Cards kept coming from behind to tie the game.
Cardinals’ third baseman David Freese was named the 2011 World Series MVP as Chris Carpenter picked up the win
