UPDATE: Shani Davis has won a gold medal in the men’s 100-meter.
Stephen Colbert is a jerk – at least according to Shani Davis.
The speedskater and Olympic gold medal winner called Colbert, a U.S. Speedskating patron, “a jerk” on Thursday.
Davis was answering a question asked by the Canadian Press about the Colbert Report‘s Canada-bashing, which included references to Canadians as “syrup-suckers,” “Sasketchewhiners,” and “Canadian iceholes.”
Colbert raised $300,000 through his website for U.S. Speedskating after Dutch bank DSB pulled out of its sponsorship. He is also a satirist and made the comments in response to the restrictions placed on foreign teams attempting to use Canadian facilities to train for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
C’mon, get over it, Shani.
