Last night’s South Park was an epic win. Those potty-mouthed school kids from Colorado gave popular social networking site Facebook a run for its money in an episode entitled “You Have 0 Friends”. That annoying “Farmville” game isn’t safe either.
Here’s the description from the South Park website:
Kyle “friended” the wrong person and now all of his old friends are deserting him. His situation is desperate. Kyle looks for help from the one person who has always been there for him.
In the episode, Kyle feels sorry for Kip Drordy, a kid with no Facebook friends whatsoever, so he “friends” him, which, according to Cartman, sends the value of his Facebook friendship plummeting. In the end, he eventually “unfriends” the poor kid.
All is not lost, however. Stan, who was reluctant to setup a Facebook account in the first place, finds that Facebook is taking over his life.
He tries to delete his profile, but finds that he can’t because his profile has become “too powerful.” Stan gets sucked into Facebook via a hilarious “Tron” send-up to do battle with his profile, which now has close to 1,000,000 friends.
In the end, Stan defeats his profile in an epic game of Yahtzee. He is then able to delete his profile, but not before giving all his friends to Kip Drordy.
