Nicole Snooki Polizzi

Parents of Rutgers University students are chiming in on the school’s decision to have Jersey Shore‘s Snooki give a speech there last week…hint: they’re pissed.

Over the weekend, we told you that Nicole Polizzi had cashed in, getting paid a cool $32,000 to give a speech at the New Jersey school.

Now parents are expressing outrage.

“It’s disgusting,” said Nester Delgado, 43, whose daughter is a freshman at Rutgers.

“Next year, is it going to be J-Woww or ‘The Situation’?”

Parents are angered that Snooki got almost $10,000 more than the $23,466 they have to cough up in annual tuition fees.

“I don’t think she’s a good representation of a role model for my kids,” said Christine Getz, 47, a part-time preschool teacher who has a son and a daughter attending Rutgers.

Among the gems Snooki offered to Rutgers student were nuggets like, “When you’re tan, you feel better about yourself,” and “Study hard, but party harder.”

Members of the Rutgers University Programming Association (RUPA), the group that organized the speech, defended Snooki’s high fee, stating that the group was seeking someone who would appeal to the student community.

“We’re trying to provide different kinds of experiences to students,” said Ana Castillo, RUPA president.

Snooki’s $32,000 fee caused quite a commotion when word got out that she was getting $2,000 more than Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison will get for this year’s commencement address.
