You can relax now. Snooki of Jersey Shore fame will NOT be dropping in a glass ball at Times Square tomorrow night, although it will still be happening someplace else.
Earlier this month, Blippitt told you that Nicole Polizzi (A.K.A. “Snooki”) would be dropping inside the ball lowered at Times Square to ring in the New Year, but that’s no longer happening.
In a statement, the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, co-producers of Times Square New Year’s Eve, confirm the stunt is a no-go:
“It was never intended or requested for Snooki to be in the actual New Year’s Eve Ball in Times Square. The request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events.”
The Snooki ball drop IS still happening, however. It’s going to take place at the Jersey Shore, go figure.
Final preparations are being made for the ball to drop in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, and Snooki will be inside.
