After enjoying some success in India, Yahoo's "Glue Pages" are coming to the U.S.

Yahoo Glue Beta is essentially a pag of structured search results, pulling content on particular topics from a variety of different sources, including news sources, Wikipedia, image search, Yahoo Answers, blogs and video.

There are also paid search ads on the page (hint hint!). The sources change with the particular topic and not all topics are available, although the Yahoo Search Blog says more will be added eventually.

"We're starting with a limited set of topics (more will be added over time), pulling together content from the best places on the Web onto one Yahoo! Glue™ page. These pages are built using an algorithm that automatically places the most relevant modules on a page, giving you a visually rich, diverse page all about the topic in which you're interested."

Here is an example of what a "Glue" search would look like for Hugh Jackman...

No word when there will be a page on Hugh Jass (sorry, I'm a huge "Simpsons" fan).

Yahoo says it is not their intention to replace the Yahoo Search experience in the U.S. with Glue Pages.  They're simply challenging themselves to explore innovative new ways to "deliver great experiences".

Well, just about anything will be better than the experience I am currently enjoying with their stock price (eek!).
