Shocker – “Kindle” Searches Soared During Holidays, Kindle 2.0 Coming Soon

From the "Duh Department", it looks like searches for "Kindle" soared during the holidays...not surprising given the huge boost Oprah provided along with all of the coupon codes floating around the 'net.

The Kindle is, of course, sold out for Christmas but people still seem to be searching for them quite a bit. Google searches on the word “Kindle” rose in October to almost three times the search level over the summer.

Also, it now looks like Kindle 2.0 will hit the "shelves" some time in January. (Pre-order here)

The new version should be a bit longer but not as thick as the original and fixes some of the button issues that irritate users.
