SHE SMELLS SO NICE: The Doors’ First New Single in 40 Years (LISTEN)

What manner of sorcery is this?  Could it be?  A new single from The Doors featuring the late Jim Morrison on vocals?

It’s true. The new single “She Smells So nice” was discovered by music producer Bruce Botnic, who co-produced the band’s album “L.A. Woman” just months before Morrison’s died of a drug overdose.

It seems Botnic was listening to the original studio session tapes while remastering the album and he stumbled upon the previously-unreleased song.

You can listen to “She Smells So Nice” is in the audio player below, and also on the band’s Facebook page. It’s a pretty cool little track, if not a bit unpolished.

The song will also be available on the two-disc reissue of “L.A. Woman”, which will include eight alternate versions of the band’s hits.

This remastered version of the album will be available on January 24, 2012.
