Shannon Sharpe has decided to “step aside” from his role as an analyst for CBS Sports amid disturbing allegations being levied against him.
Sharpe’s accuser, Michele Bundy, is claiming that the former NFL tight end forced her to have sex with him, threatened her life, and continues to stalk her, calling regularly to say he is watching her.
It was discovered on Friday that the accuser had filed for a restraining order, but Sharpe still went on television two days later as part of CBS’s coverage of Week 1 of the 2010 NFL regular season.
Regarding Sharpe’s decision to take a leave of absence, CBS Sports Senior Vice President of Communications LeslieAnne Wade said on behalf of the network: “We accept Shannon’s decision and decline to comment further on a pending legal matter.”
Shannon Sharpe joined the CBS Sports crew in 2004 after retiring from football.
At this point, Sharpe has not been charged with a crime or been arrested. You can take a look at some of the supporting documents below.
