Linden Lab has announced that it will start cracking down on adult content in the virtual reality game Second Life.
Adult content will be restricted to a separate area within Second Life, away from the main areas many users may visit. The questionable content will be eliminated from Second Life search and users will have to verify their age in order to access the new red light districts.
Linden Lab will be working with the online community throughout the next 6 weeks to determine what content will go, and what will stay.
Second Life has already defined the difference between “adult only” and PG rated areas and has a strict “no minors” policy within the main grid, so now they seem to be taking things to the next level.
So is cleaning up Second Life a good idea? What do you think?
