Legendary skater Scott Hamilton will skate on national television for the first time since surviving a brain tumor, joining fellow Olympian and cancer survivor Dorothy Hamill for an inspirational Thanksgiving Day special.
The special, entitled “Kaleidoscope,” will air on November 26 and is meant inspire viewers who may be battling cancer. Also appearing in the special will be 1992 Olympic figure skating champ Kristi Yamaguchi and two-time medalist Nancy Kerrigan.
Hamill, who won a gold medal in 1976, will skate to a song performed by Olivia Newton-John, who was also diagnosed with breast cancer.
Scott Hamilton says the show is intended to entertain, but also to motivate. He has overcome testicular cancer and battled a non-cancerous brain tumor.
